that we eat on a daily basis are rich in antioxidants.

Health food doesn’t have to be hard to come by. To consume more antioxidants in your diet, consider adding the following healthy foods to your daily diet.

Berries such as raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, blueberries and cranberries are all great sources of antioxidants. These tiny berries really pack the health food punch when it comes to antioxidants. A single serving of blueberries has the antioxidant capacity of three whole Gala apples. If you are looking for a tasty way to add more antioxidants to your diet, then berries are truly the way to go.

Pinto beans, kidney beans, and black beans all contain high amounts of antioxidants that are excellent for your body. It is very simple to add beans to a meal to increase the antioxidant capacity of the meal without increasing the cost or limiting the flavor. Try adding beans to a soup or salad, or you can add them to your main dish. Just a half a cup of red kidney beans will give you a huge health food bang for your buck. Not only are these little beans really cheap, but they also pack a huge amount of antioxidants in every half-cup serving.

Cooked Artichokes
Artichokes are not always the most sought-after health food, but when you like them they can be an excellent source of antioxidants that are easy to add to your diet. Consider making a spinach and artichoke dip for your next snack. The artichokes alone will give you the antioxidant benefit of nearly two full servings of russet potatoes.

For an extra sweet health food treat that packs the antioxidants into your diet, try prunes for a snack throughout the day. These tasty little fruits have the antioxidant capacity equal to two whole Gala apples in just half a cup. Dried prunes make a great snack and they are excellent to take with you on the go.

Apples of All Kinds
While some apples are higher in antioxidants than other, they are all good for you. Remember the old saying, “an apple a day keeps the doctor away?” Well, if antioxidants are part of what keeps the doctor away, then apples truly are the way to go. These healthy foods are very high in antioxidants and they are so easy to add to your diet. Whether you like red apples, gala apples, or granny smiths, adding them into your diet whenever possible will keep you full of antioxidants.

A single serving of pecans packs thousands of antioxidants. When it comes to health food, pecans are a great source of proteins and antioxidants. For women, pecans have been known to lower the risk of painful gallstones thanks to their high antioxidant capacity. Pecans have also been found to reduce LDL cholesterol in both men and women over time. You really can’t go wrong with these little nuts. Eating the rainbow is a crucial healthy tip.

To increase your antioxidant intake, simply reach for more fresh fruits and vegetables over supplements.
