Hi ,my name is Alicia Willis and I am 24 years old. I have brain cancer right now and always will. I was getting severe headaches all the time and they were getting worse, so I went to a hospital to see what was going on and they said that it was just migraines. I went back home and the next day it was getting much worse; so much so that I could not do anything.
I went to another doctor and they did a MRI on my brain and said that I had brain cancer and that is was growing so fast that I needed surgery right away. I went to Cedar Rapids and had the surgery done. The doctors said it was really big; like the a size of a walnut.
They also told me that if I hadn’t said anything about it when I did, then I would have been dead in 2 weeks because the tumor was growing so big. I went through chemotherapy and had to have radiation done for 6 weeks. They shrunk the tumor as small as they could. I was really sick after that, but it is doing better now. I now see my chemotherapy doctor every 6 months because the tumor is not growing at all, which is good, but I still have to fight with it. I will never give up, either!

This is a very scary story. I’m glad you went to the second doctor. Stay well. Thanks for sharing your story.
