My battles haven’t ended and they won’t. I was born with a heart condition called tricuspid atresia. Additionally, I have scoliosis and was finally diagnosed with Klippel–Feil syndrome (KFS) 8 years ago. The KFS gives me a migraine every day and after multiple surgeries, I can no longer move my neck or the top part of my body. I have heart and lung failure, and I am being prepared for a double transplant.
I’m scared, but I’m a fighter and I will always fight. When I was born my doctors told my parents that I wouldn’t live. Well, I proved them wrong. I am now in my early 50s, and I am proud, strong, and determined to live.
