I had a lump in my breast in 2013. It got bigger and started hurting. I had no insurance because I could not afford it at my job. I could not handle it anymore, so I told my mom. She told me to sign up for women’s Medicaid so I did.
It took a while, but I got it and went to the doctor who diagnosed me. I was scared, but went through chemotherapy and radiation for a year. In the beginning of January, I had a mastectomy.
Fast forward to last February when I went to my 6 month check up. I got a call that my tumor marking was high – 70%. I had a whole body PET scan, and found out that I have cancer recurrence in my neck and ribs.
So, now I am doing Ibrance oral chemo, Fulvestrant injections, Zoladex implants and Zometa infusions. I will fight this demon and win for good.
