In 2010, I was 36 yrs. of age and it was the second time I felt a lump in my breast.
I had felt one the prior year, but nothing was shown on the testing. I had a mammogram and ultrasound and was found to have two tumors; one of which had been growing for a year. I had a double mastectomy, 16 rounds of treatments, and continued to work. I gained weight and lost my hair but my positivity, my family, and my friends helped me get through it.
Currently, I am continuing with Femara®, a hormone interceptor, as I call it, which causes bone and joint pain. I started running and exercising 5 years ago which helps and makes me feel good.
I have completed two full marathons, numerous half’s, and a lot of 5ks! Crossing that finish line is amazing! I went for my certification in REFIT® which promotes fitness and positivity, as well as becoming certified in Yoga for Cancer. My goal is to give back and to help everyone be and feel the best they can–inside and out. Life is too short!!
