Kathy’s Story (Breast Cancer)

Pink RibbonI was diagnosed at age 42: triple negative breast cancer. I had a double mastectomy and four rounds of chemotherapy. Then 2011, I had reconstruction and a hysterectomy in a 10-hour surgery

Nipple reconstruction failed four times and I even got MRSA. I gave up on nipple reconstruction or tattooing.

Just in the past month, I got my third permanent makeup areolas. I am so happy! I have been posting on Facebook to “Fight Like a Girl” since 2011 and been participating in Relay for Life since 2011.

You sound like a real fighter. You are way too young to have had to have gone through all of this. I wish you the best as you move forward.
