It’s been 7 years now since I was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer. I never believed I would make it this long.
Initially, in August 2015, I was told I had a hole in my colon and I was dying, and needed emergency surgery because I became septic. I had a colectomy in order to save my life.
After this the diagnosis of cancer was given, and I went through radiation and chemotherapy. The sad part of my cancer is I also have lynch syndrome. My cancer spread, but we have consistently taken the measures to catch it in time.
I’m alive 7 years after the doctors said I would die; so with that, everyday is a blessing.
