My story began in 2016 when I was diagnosed with HER2+ breast cancer. I fought through chemotherapy, a lumpectomy, and radiation. I spent 5 years on Anastrozole to prevent the cancer from coming back.
Fast forward to 2022. I was diagnosed again with DCIS breast cancer in the same breast, only to be told a mastectomy was my only option. I am currently recovering from a double mastectomy that was done on September 7th. If it wasn’t for my family and friends, I don’t think I could have gotten through this a second time.
I am fighting to get healthy and get rid of this horrible illness that has taken too many strong women. No one knows the fight we have to struggle through to live a long, healthy life, all the while wondering in the back of our minds if this will happen again. There is a reason we are called warriors, and it’s because we never stop fighting!
Don’t give up, don’t throw in the towel because I will not let this take me! I will continue on telling cancer it will not win this battle! We fight too hard to give up.💕
