Tracy’s Story (Breast Cancer)

Hi all, I am in the early stages of getting information. I noticed a lump a year ago, but my insurance made it hard to find doctors. I was finally able to locate one covered and he is a great surgeon. I now have a wonderful oncologist and will be starting chemotherapy in the next couple of weeks.

Once chemotherapy is done, I have opted to go flat, since this is the second time I have had a lump and don’t want to take chance for a third. Thanks for reading.

    Hi Tracy!

I did a single mastectomy in 1999 and opted for no reconstruction and just wore a prosthesis on that side. In 2017 I was diagnosed in my other breast and had another mastectomy with no reconstruction. I ditched the prosthesis at this point and I have to say, on a hot summer day I am so happy for no bra or boob sweat! Lol! I have found how very little people actually pay attention and don’t even notice. There are some fabrics that cling too much and don’t work as well as others, but it just takes finding what works for you. Hoping your chemo is good to you and all is well! Take care.
