Tori’s Story (Endometriosis)

Yellow RibbonI’ve been suffering for coming up either five or six years now, it has been such a long and painful process, I think I’ve lost count! It started when I would double over in pain with my stomach, and cry, which would turn to screaming. After this the pain would eventually make me vomit.

Doctors put this down to irritable bowel syndrome which gastro’s have just diagnosed me as having a severe case of which co-exists with fibromyalgia (I’m currently in rheumatology to figure out if I have ME or fibro). I was diagnosed with endometriosis and PCOS two years ago after having a laparoscopy (keyhole surgery), where they drained my cysts and lasered off my endo. I’m going back in to have another laser treatment for the endo in a few weeks as it’s back and in my uterus this time and even showed up on an ultra sound which my doctor told me was rare for endo tissue to show up on.

I’m also a masseuse so you can imagine how difficult work is for me, my hours have been cut back tremendously and I’m lucky I have such an amazing partner to be there through the pain, to help me around the house when I can hold myself up anymore and hold me whilst I scream. Thank you x

My periods get to the point where I vomit. I have done ultrasound after ultrasound and my doctor swears up and down that I am fine. It is so bad I am taking vicodin. I finally was referred to a gyno who told me it doesn’t show up in ultrasounds. We are doing the surgery in two weeks to find ut if it is endometriosis. I am glad I am finally getting answers. Thank you for sharing your story. I feel better knowing that I am not alone and not overreacting like my doctors thought.
