In January of 2013, I found a lump in the left side of my breast. After a few weeks I asked my mom, who is also a nurse, to see if she also could feel it. She told me that I needed to get it checked out asap, so that’s when I really started to worry.
I had a biopsy done. I found out I had triple negative Invasive Intraductal Carcinoma stage 3 on February 26, 2013. I am a single mom of three beautiful kids and was only 33.
I went through chemo from April 16th to July 21, 2013. I had expanders put in in Sept 5th, and I also had a total hysterectomy on Sept 25th, because I also carry the BRCA1 gene which puts me at a higher risk for ovarian cancer. I am now finished expanding and getting my implants on March 11, 2014!
What a great way for me to celebrate one year cancer free!!!
