Hello, I’m not Lily Kuhn. I am her daughter, and I would like to share her story.
She was diagnosed with Addison’s disease. This illness drains you of energy. She raised my little brother and I since I was about two years old, so she’s had this disease for about 19 years. I almost lost my mom when I was two because of this illness, but I didn’t. She was strong enough to make it through, but I know that every day is not easy for her. On top of that, last year she had thyroid cancer. She had surgery to have her thyroid removed.
Today she is cancer free, thank gosh, but not having a thyroid is very difficult, and every day she has her struggles. She may not know that I realize this, but I do. Knowing that she deals with all of this everyday makes her my hero (:
I know that these Fight Like a Girl Club stories and everyone on here help my mom because they understand what she is going through. I couldn’t appreciate this page any more for giving my mom hope!

Lily,
You are such a sweet daughter. Your mother reads like a remarkable woman. I have Sheehan’s Syndrome. My pituitary does not function completely. With Sheehan’s Syndrome has come a host of other aliments including adrenal insufficiency and hypothyroid.
Thank you for spreading the word about your courageous mother.

Lily, Thanks for sharing your story. I also have adrenal disease and it is indeed a difficult thing to deal with. Your Mom is very lucky to have you!
