Kim’s Story (Cervical Cancer)

kim's story-cervical cancer After receiving my diagnosis in February of 2022, I underwent 6 chemotherapy treatments, 25 external radiation treatments, and 5 internal radiation treatments. I had 2 clean positron emission tomography (PET) scans.

Then, in February of this year, a small nodule showed up on my lung. It was too small to biopsy. In May, a CT guided biopsy confirmed that it was metastasis.

The tumor, neighboring lymph nodes, and part of my lung were removed last Friday. My lymph nodes are now clean. Another round of chemotherapy will start in a few weeks.

I’m down, but I’m not out. I’m going into this with the confidence of a 4-year-old wearing a Batman cape. Cancer is truly messing with the wrong cowgirl.
