After a trip to the ER for an intestinal problem, I found out I was six weeks pregnant with my second child and had a large tumor on my right kidney.
I feel so blessed that it was caught early enough and that both the surgery and the pregnancy were without complications. My son is now six months old and I just found out today that I’m one year cancer free!!! I couldn’t have done this without my awesome husband and family cheering me on.
I learned how to Fight Like a Girl from my grandmother (non- Hodgkin’s lymphoma twice), my aunt (breast cancer/mastectomy), and my mom (renal cell). Everyday I’m grateful, even if it’s a less than stellar day. I never really knew how strong I was until this past year. My thoughts and prayers to EVERYONE going through this, patients and their caregivers!!!
