Debra’s Story (Cervical Cancer)

Cervical Cancer StoriesI was diagnosed with cervical cancer on the seventh of June this year 2013, following a routine polyp removal operation. Being diagnosed was the worst fear I have ever experienced, but I thought to myself this will not beat me.

Following this operation I was sent for a MRI scan. Following this was a surgery for lymph node removal in my pelvis on both sides as well as a full biopsy coloscopy of my womb lining, as part of the polyp stock was still there.

Luckily for me the operation took the stock away of the polyp. Currently on the July 17,2013, I am in remission. As excellent as this is and this is the best I could hope for. I am struggling to get back to normality and live my life as I would as the constant thought of will t return and so on as I had no symptoms prior the polyp operation.

I am taking it one day at a time. Fingers crossed I live, and I hope that it has gone forever.
