After 14 years of survivorship, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer in July 2017. I had leg pain that I attributed to a running injury, but it was actually a large tumor in my right femur with other lesions in my spine and ribs.
I had 30+ radiation treatments and 3 different courses of chemotherapy. I was also diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer in January 2018.
I pride myself on my “never give up” attitude. I hope my legacy is that because of me, one person has become more aware of breast cancer, one person didn’t give up, and maybe one person will be encouraged by my fight.
I am currently on a chemo break, as my cancer lesions appear somewhat stable. I pray daily for a cure for this horrific disease, not just for myself but for all the fighters and the future.
