Alida’s Story (Leukemia)

Alida's Story (Leukemia)The most important thing is to stay positive. That is how I do it daily. In October 2013, after external pains, fatigue, left abdominal pain, and bruises on my feet, I was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia cells type B.

I knew I had leukemia before the doctor told me. I was alone, a 19 years old girl with a doctor telling her she has cancer. I was only a student away from her home. I did not weep nor get angry. I knew I could beat this illness with God’s help and that is what I am trying to do.

After four rounds of chemo I await a transplant. Yes, my friends and family were all devastated but I knew that at least I can try and fight. And this is the most important! Never give up! Never ever give up! It will be hard and you will wish this happened to you but you must go on. It is your fight!
