Update From Becca

Hi everyone,

Sorry I haven’t updated lately! I had to have the battery of my pacemaker/defibulator replaced and there were a lot of complications that came with it. Once they had put me under with sedation, I had a huge asthma attack that lasted for 3 to 4 hours. And during the heart cath, they measured a few things on my heart and they didn’t like the numbers they had seen. The doctors hoped that perhaps those numbers were just that way because my lungs were bad.

Then after the surgery, I was in ICU and then got moved up to the Cardiac Floor. Although that didn’t last long because I started having irregular heart beats. They discovered that I am now having an irregular heart beat called SVT. So now I have PVC’s, V-Tack and SVT. So they have put me back on an anti-arrhythmia drug. And I was finally sent home.

Last Friday we went to have a CT Scan to see if the numbers in my heart have gotten any better. Thankfully, they have!! We worried about the numbers, knowing that if they didn’t get better or if they got worse (higher) then the talk of a heart-lung transplant was going to get closer and closer. But thankfully, the numbers have lowered and I am doing a lot better. However, I know that some day I will need that transplant… I’m just not ready for it. Not ready at all.

Thank you guys for all your support, I really appreciate it!
Becca
