I’m 36 and was diagnosed with SLE almost a year ago. I have a horrible doctor that has tried two different medications for Lupus (Plaquenil and Lyrica). The Plaquenil did not work at all. He now has me on Lyrica which has only made me gain 40 lbs. There hasn’t been any change for the better. I’m in more pain now than I was a year ago. ALL my symptoms are worse.
There are only four “rhumy’s” in my area. They are all in the same clinic and they all told me the same thing as my current doctor. My illness has also played a big part of my two year separation from my husband. I just want to sleep and eat without being nauseous and to stop hurting!! I have been on medication for ADD, anxiety, depression, and insomnia for several years now. They say it’s all related to my Lupus, however they’re all much worse now.
I have not had one day that something has not hurt for over a year now. Its mainly my left knee and/or my feet. I pray no one will ever have to experience this. I still go to work 40 hours a week but I fight like a girl to do it!!!!
