My name is Stephanie. In January 2012, I was diagnosed with what they thought was pneumonia. I later came to find out that it was carcinoid cancer.
After undergoing multiple cat scans, x-rays, blood tests, and a biopsy, it was confirmed that I had a tumor in the lower lobe of my left lung.
On February 23, 2012, I had surgery. Due to the size of the tumor, my left lung had to be removed. It’s been a long road but I’m getting better day by day. It’s difficult to breathe at times but I’m thankful to be alive to tell my story.

I too went to the doctor with pneumonia in February of this year and was later diagnosed with a carcinoid tumor in my upper left lobe. I had my lobe removed in April and am in recovery now. It has been a life changing event but I too am thankful to be alive my friend.
It is a life changer for sure!
