Stacy’s Story (Breast Cancer)

Breast Cancer StoriesLast year while screen printing, I received the call from the doctor. We received that call two months to the date of my sister in law passing away suddenly from sleep apnea. She was 50.

Three surgeries later I had a double mastectomy (I had no insurance due to the fact that we were both self employed). The cancer had cost a lot. Two months after my last surgery my husband’s only remaining sibling past away at 49 with, you guessed it, sleep apnea. It was a rough year. We sold our store so I could go back to work to help pay the bills.

God has been with us because we have remained strong. My advice is this: the pain is only temporary. Ten years from now we will all be in a better spot financially (and maybe even be able to afford breast reconstruction), find a good church family, and last but not least laugh. For me I watched Family Feud with Steve Harvey. I will be praying for everyone who has to endure this.

I will be praying for you and your husband.
