Hello. I kept getting this pain in my left arm for around three years. I went to the doctor many times and was told it was due to lifting at work.
Then in November of 2010, I was reaching up and got a sudden pain. I put my hand on my left boob, and I felt a big mass. I took my bra off and I noticed something was wrong. I had a sore round the nipple and it was swollen.
I then made an appointment. My world just stood still when the doctor said it was 50/50. I knew then it wouldn’t be good news. I had tests done and they had found a big mass. The first thing I asked was, “am I going to die?” They said, “it was lucky you came in when you did.” I had chemo to shrink the tumor, then a left mastectomy, and 15 nodes taken from under my arm. My strength came from no where, I wasn’t ready to go to heaven just yet. The shaving of my hair was difficult but then I got use to it. Now I wear wigs and people comment saying they like my hair. Love and respect to all the pink ladies out there.
