Natalie’s Story (Diabetes)

Grey Diabetes RibbonI am a 35 year old single mother of two. I am diabetic and also suffers from high blood pressure. I have faced two mini strokes since 2011.

I recently worked two jobs to support my children but I resigned my part time job due to my illness. I have had a rough couple of years and recently I lost my father who passed on 07/12/2013 from a major stroke and heart attack.

My father too is a diabetic and we found out after he passed that he also had a massive tumor in his lungs. I do not want to go down the same path. I want to be there for my children, so I have changed my eating habits and have been going to the gym. This is not an easy road.

On the other hand, some fruits are naturally low in sugar and may be a better choice, since you can eat more of them. What are the best diabetic-friendly fruits?
