Hi! I’m Nancy. I’m 33-years-old, and I was diagnosed with stage 2B cervical cancer in November of 2021.
The thought had never crossed my mind that I’d be the one diagnosed with cancer. I was scared to death. I went through 8 weeks (5 days a week) of radiation, 6 weeks (1 treatment a week) of chemotherapy, and 5 treatments of brachytherapy (internal radiation). In September of 2022, I was deemed in remission!
But not so fast – I am still in the midst of figuring out if my cancer is back right now. So here’s to the biopsies, future surgeries, and my fight because I will NOT give up! This will not win! I have the biggest support system, and I have so much more left to do in this life! So I’m going to continue to FIGHT LIKE A GIRL!

My cervical cancer treatment was exactly the same. I finished treatment May 4th of 2022. In February of this year, a Pet Scan revealed a very small nodule at the base of my right lung. A repeat scan in May indicated that the nodule had almost doubled in size. Tomorrow I will have robotic surgery to remove the lower portion of my lung and the lymph nodes in my chest. I will begin chemo as soon as the surgeon clears me.
Even though I am 62 years old, I still have a lot of fight left in me. Cancer truly is messing with the wrong old girl.
