Melissa’s Story (Breast Cancer)

Melissas Story Triple Negative Breast CancerIn May of 2011, I was diagnosed with stage II triple negative breast cancer. After 8 rounds of chemo, a lumpectomy and 37 days of radiation, I thought I had killed the monster.

This August, I was doing reconstruction when, after surgery, the implant in the right side (original site of the cancer) moved. They had to go back in to fix it, and when they did, they found the cancer had come back. They removed it and then did a third surgery, a mastectomy with a tissue expander.

Now I will battle again. Four rounds of a stronger chemo, which will start on 9/18/14. Praying this is it!!! Praying the beast will forever be gone from my life!!! Fighting like a girl!!!
