After having endometriosis and living with sarcoidosis I thought that all my medical worries were over, until early one morning last August when I was awaken with a burning sensation in my right breast.
I went out to the ER only to be told that there was nothing there they could do and they referred me to another doctor. The OB/GYN that I went to sent me for a mammogram and an ultrasound which showed a tiny speck at the six o’clock region. On September 26, 2012, I heard those words: YOU HAVE CANCER.
The results of my lumpectomy were that the margins were not clear. On October 15, 2012 (my 44th birthday), I had a mastectomy. I never even felt a lump.
