Laura’s Story (Breast Cancer)

Laura's Story (Breast Cancer)I am 43 years old. I have a wonderful husband of 14 years and a 15 year old daughter.

I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer this past April and will be receiving my 3rd round of aggressive chemo treatment this Wednesday. I have 4-6 more treatments before I get a double mastectomy, and then go back to chemo to continue fighting like a girl against MBC.

The Lord is with me always, every step of the way.

  4. Hi Laura … May God bless you along this journey! I was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer 11 years ago. I, too, had a double mastectomy and completed a year of chemo and 6 months of radiation. I had a very grim prognosis but, as I said, that was 11 years ago. I just want you to know that you can do this. You are a strong, courageous woman and I know you’ll fight this like a girl! Try to really believe that you will beat this … I pictured little PAC man type creatures running around, gobbling up those cancer cells and never let any survival rates, percentages, etc. enter your thoughts. Just know, you will get better! Stay strong and my thoughts and prayers and good vibes are coming your way! (BTW, I’m 45 now and cancer free)

  7. Hey Laura,
I was diagnosed with stage III inflammatory breast cancer a year and a half ago. I went through chemo, mastectomy, and radiation. At my three month check up they found it had metasticized so now it is stage IV and I had radiation again. I am now on femara and faslodex. My 3 kids are grown, youngest just graduated, but I have a new grandbaby I want to see grow up. With God’s help, we can win this fight. Prayers with you and your family.
