Deana’s Story (Breast Cancer)

Deana's Story (Breast Cancer) LRI was first diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in 2006. We beat it with prayers, a lumpectomy, 15 weeks of chemotherapy, and 5 weeks of radiation therapy. Unfortunately, in February 2012 there was a recurrence, and I have been battling stage 4 metastatic breast cancer with a tumor near my spine at T-10 and in my right hip and leg. I completed 10 treatments of radiation, 6 months of oral chemo, and now I am taking hormone blocking therapy.

Fighting this disease has been rough, but I have had some incredible support from my family, friends, neighbors, and community. God has blessed me, and I continue to ”Fight like a Girl”.
