I turned 50 years old on July 3rd this year, and 10 days later, I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma. I had a double mastectomy with reconstruction on August 28th, and my pathology came back with metastasis to the lymph nodes.
I’m currently waiting for radiation and chemotherapy to begin. I’m still in shock, but staying strong.
