I was only 36 years old when I was diagnosed with cancer on October 23, 2015. I went in for an allergic reaction and ended up finding out that I had cancer. At that time, it was a stage 1 and was only in my uterus. A total abdominal hysterectomy was scheduled for December 11, 2015. I was afraid and very emotional.
After the hysterectomy, I was informed that in two short months the cancer had spread to my ovaries and pelvic wall and went to a stage 3! However, they got all the cancer during the surgery. I had several rounds of chemo followed by radiation and brachytherapy. After all of that, I had to do more chemo due to the fact that it had spread just a little into my stomach.
I was put into remission in December 2017. If it wasn’t for my family and close friends, I would not have made it. Prayers to all my sisters fighting this battle.
