Bridget’s Story (Breast Cancer)

My breast cancer story: At 38 years old, my gynecologist recommended I go in for my baseline mammogram. Baseline showed a small cyst in my right breast at the 4 o’clock position. After the results were given to my gynecologist, she recommended I see a surgeon to either watch it or remove it.  I met with the surgeon on September 10th, and we scheduled a biopsy/removal for the 17th. On September 19th, the results came back positive for breast cancer. On September 29th, I had a lumpectomy and 2 nodes removed – all coming back clear! I opted to do chemo and radiation treatments – 6 months of chemo and 6 weeks of radiation, followed by hormone therapy.

I really appreciate your support during my cancer treatments and by wearing this bracelet. I hope that you will share my story to every woman you meet who asks. If you haven’t had your mammogram yet, or are approaching 40, please visit with your doctor! My pro-activeness just may have saved my life!

  1. I too am a cancer survivor. The journey is terrifying to say the very least. Hopefully, others will be inspired by you. Keep fighting.
