Angela’s Story (Epilepsy)

image3Now, a 42 year old, mother of two, I was diagnosed with epilepsy at 19. After medication after medications and a near death  experience due to liver dysfunction, I’m back on the wagon train. This past weekend, I had a grand mal seizure for the first time in 17 years.

I had forgotten the metallic taste, the confusion, and the pain. The reason I had the seizure is unclear.  It might have been the cold medicine or it might have been the stress of owning my own business. Whatever the reason, I know I don’t like it. I haven’t taken “man made” medications for nearly a decade and don’t plan on it now.

I’m more into the herbal approach, dark sunglasses, no nighttime TV, and plenty of fluids. I’ll prosper on. I’ll Fight Like a Girl and win again.

God bless you … I come from a long line of generations of seizures … I have had grand mal as a child was seizure free throughout my 20s to 40s … As I am going thru the change I am have very small strange seizures and have not driven in 10 yrs bc I am severely allergic to 4 dif meds tried so just try to stay healthy and calm to keep them at bay … My cousin had grand mal all her life and never drove all her life … I was blessed to see a tv show about surgery and I passed the info on … After she and her family researched she went to Mass. and had the surgery … She has had her drivers license now for several years and is seizure free … I pray for you and your family and hope that you too can find this surgery to change your life … Doctors need to be more pro active about this surgery instead of allowing the suffering so that we grease big pharmaceutical companies by being on all the toxic meds .. Also much has been found about marijuana and extracts of it … God Bless you and good luck ….

Mrs. Bishop, I just found your reply. I had been having seizures on a almost regular basis. Stress seems to trigger it more than anything. No meds, not even marijuana. Been reading the bible, praying and trying to avoid stressful situations. Can’t say I’m ‘seizure free’ but I haven’t had one in nearly 3 months. Good bless you.
