Alexa’s Fight Like a Girl Story (Rheumatoid Arthritis and Lupus)

RA and Lupus Ribbon My name is Alexa. At the young age of 17, I was a married and a mom of a little boy. I did not expect to become pregnant again so soon after my first pregnancy. The second time around, I was so sick. I soon got to be 87 lbs. Little did I know, I had a partial molar pregnancy.

After losing a little girl at almost 5 months along, I was told there was still tissue in my uterus. I have had 37 surgeries, and 4 rounds of chemo.  I also lost a set of twins and had an ectopic pregnancy.

Now I am a 24 year old, and a  mother of 3. I did not think I was going to make it through all of that, but I did. The chemo however, damaged my kidneys and liver.

I have since been told that I have rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and lupus. Life is hard, but I love it. I will forever continue to fight everything that comes my way. You ladies do the same!
