Ileen’s Story (Turner Syndrome, Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, Hemolytic Anemia, and Celiac Disease)

ileens-power-storyI was diagnosed with Turner syndrome and Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. That’s when my life battle began especially for my learning and my weight not to mention my height. I’ve had to learn to live with these conditions I call frenemies. I thank God for having my parents and their support.

Then at the age of 35, I was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin’s lymphoma. That led to a couple more frenemies in my life, hemolytic anemia and celiac disease.

I am now fighting with COVID-19. All I can say is if God opened this door, I can keep moving forward. I may seem like a hot mess to others, but to my parents and to myself, I’m Ileen, a regular Cuban American gal. A typical short cake 🙋🏻‍♀️dealing with life’s curve balls.
