At the age of nine, I was diagnosed with lymphoma.
I underwent radiation and chemo for a combined total of 18 months.
I was bullied in school for not having hair and for having to wear a wig–it was rough.
During my remission, I was blessed with two beautiful children even though the doctors told my parents I would be sterile due to the chemo I was given.
In 2015, my story went like this “Happy birthday you have a lump in your breast.”
Again, I went through tests and procedures. I had uncertainties for a few weeks, and those weeks turned into a couple months.
Before I knew it, Christmas had arrived and I was receiving more bad news. I was told I have Triple Negative Breast Cancer, an aggressive form of cancer and we have to get started on treatments right away.
And as New Year arrived, I was told, ” Happy New Year you are having a mastectomy.”
I underwent six months of chemo, lost my hair again along with my job and my home. I had to move-in with my parents and start all over again.
Currently, I’m enrolled in school. God willing in July, I will graduate from an LPN program so I can have a start to give back and pay forward the amazing care I received both times from amazing medical teams.
I’m here by the grace of God!!!!
Fighting strong like the strong girl that I am and have learned to love with all my scars.

What an inspiration you are. It is so wonderful that after so many struggles you want to become a nurse. Keep fighting. Prayers to you and your family.
