Michelle’s Story (Breast Cancer)

Breast Cancer StoriesI’ve been on the fence about sharing my story but feel compelled to after what happened this weekend. I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in August. I’ve had a lumpectomy with node removal and 7 rounds of chemo so far. The thought of losing my hair weighed heavily on me for months. It was gradual at first but became more dramatic over the past two weeks.

I decided to shave my head on Friday. Best. Decision. Ever! I feel stronger. I feel more like myself than I have in months. I took charge of the situation and feel empowered to finish the final 5 rounds of chemo before starting radiation in February.

I hope this helps those of you going through the same thing. The stories on this page have given me a great deal of comfort and support.
