Lauri’s Story (MPN)

Lauri''s Story (Migraines)Hey everyone!

So almost two years ago, I wrote to you about these crazy complex migraines I was diagnosed with. Then a year and a half ago, I told you all about these two strokes I suffered!

Well, guess what, I’m back. And this time, all my specialists have connected the proverbial dots! I was diagnosed right after my strokes with high platelets, hence the strokes (blood clots). High platelets also cause migraines that resemble hemiplegic complex migraine. So this is what I’ve got: Myloproliferative neoplasm/cancer, specifically the one called Essential Thrombocytosis! Better known as MPN with ET! Turns out, it’s a really rare blood cancer! So next month (as if I haven’t endured enough), I will go on oral chemo for life because there is no cure. And here’s the best part: I will never die from it!

So once again I will handle my mud, pull up my big girl panties, straighten that friggen crown, and fight like a girl!
