Veronica’s Story (Papillary Thyroid Cancer)

On July 16, 2021, I was diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer. It was honestly a shock to me and my husband. For years I thought and was told my symptoms were related to depression and stress but knew it was something else. I never would’ve thought it would be cancer. I’ve had surgery and treatment and am prepping for my yearly radioactive iodine scan.

Now, I depend on Levothyroxine, my dose has changed a few times and I’m honestly feeling better. Mentally and physically I am still adjusting to the medication and everything I’ve experienced in such a short period of time, but I am so thankful it was caught in time. I’ve also been blessed with such a great support system of my amazing husband and very dear friends.
