Petra’s Story (Breast Cancer)

Petra's Story (Breast Cancer)In August of 2013, breast cancer was detected in my right breast. It spread across the whole breast and I was advised to amputate it. As a precaution I had a double mastectomy in October and let them put in tissue expanders for reconstruction (these are temporary to stretch the skin on). Later others glands proved to be also affected and these glands were also removed.

I’ve had 16 radiation treatments and just had my third chemo, with a total of six chemo treatments to go. Once the chemo is finished I will have surgery again and I get the final implants. Then follows another five years of hormone therapy and removal of the ovaries. We are not there yet and it’s quite heavy, but I’m going to win this fight.

I also have the great “Heck Yes” shirt that I ordered from you. I have pictures of it and put it on my Facebook page. I have been given so many great and nice comments.
