Karen’s Fight Like a Girl Story (Breast Cancer)

I had just turned 50. I was excited and ready to start living my next 50 years. Then, six months later, I hear, “You have breast cancer.” Those words hit like a wrecking ball on my future plans.

The endless tests, the surgery, the treatments after surgery. Life as you know it changes forever. Even though you think you’re alone, you are not. When you think you don’t want to live from the effects, mentally and physically, you rise up! Cancer my have tried, but seven years later, I see myself and realize I won! I love my life.
