Hi, I’m Aimee. I’m 23, and I have a rare cancer called angiosarcoma. It affected my face, and they had to remove half of my upper jaw and the area under my eye socket. I was at stage four when they found it.
It started out as a toothache—or it felt like a sinus infection. It took five doctors and multiple biopsies to figure out what it was. I had surgery, and it was gone, but it came back three months later.
They said radiation and chemo wouldn’t get rid of it, but we tried them anyway. They had no hope it would work—but it did.
I am in remission, and hopefully, if my scans come back good, I’ll be cancer-free for nine months. They said I wouldn’t see my 23rd birthday, but I’m almost 24 now.
If you take anything from this, it’s: never lose hope, and keep on smiling—even through the pain.💛
