Samantha’s Story (Endometriosis)

Samanthas Story EndometriosisWhen I was 17, I went to the doctor with severe pain, heavy bleeding and bloating. The doctor told me it was just period pain, and if i couldn’t handle it I would be put on the pill. 3 months later I collapsed at work due to extreme pain and heavy bleeding. I was taken to the hospital where I was told I had endometriosis.

I am now 24. I have had two laparoscopic surgeries, and I am still nowhere near healthy. I have changed every aspect of my life, but still this illness is determined to beat me. As I type this I am sitting in the hospital being told my condition has gotten worse again. The pain, lack of sleep and loss of blood has taken over my life. I am waiting to hear if there are any procedures left to try and fix this problem. I have been told I may need a hysterectomy by the time I’m 25. But I will not let this illness destroy me. I will be better, I will be bigger and I will win!!!
