I was 34 in December of 2011 when I got my diagnosis of stage III invasive lobular carcinoma. I had an 18 month old baby at home and my world came crashing down into pieces as I sat crying on the phone with my doctor who broke the news to me.
My thoughts were: Would I get to walk my daughter Teagan to her first day of school? Will I be there to hang her school work on the fridge? Would I be able to hug her when she’s sad? I decided right away that I was going to do whatever I had to do to see all of this and more!
With the love and support of my fiance, family, and the strength my daughter gave me, I went through 16 weeks of chemo and 31 rounds of radiation. I’m scheduled for my FINAL reconstructive surgery in one week! I’ve fought like a girl and have never looked back!

Sylvia, I know you can fight better than most girls. Good luck with your last surgery and keep on fighting. Not how I would have liked to be being in touch for sure but by gosh I know you are a champ.
