Heather’s Story (Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer )

heathers-story-breast-cancerIn October 2007, I felt a lump on my left side while nursing my baby. My doctor made me wait until 2008 to do a mammogram. I ended up with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer that spread to my lymph nodes and my liver.

I then had 4 months of chemo, a total mastectomy, radiation to breast and liver, daily hormone chemotherapy treatment for 11 years. I’ve been on multiple treatments and I’m on number 7. Praying they find a cure some day. For now, I live treatment to treatment.

  1. I was first diagnosed with Breast cancer in 2011. I had a double Mastectomy, chemo, and radiation. In 2018 I was again diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer, it had spread to my lungs. I have been doing treatments every 3 weeks and taking tamoxifin. You give my hope that I can last longer than a couple of years. Thank you, Heather. Stay strong.
