While doing a self breast exam in June of 2010, I felt a lump and the journey began. Went to the doctor, got a mammogram, a sonogram, and then a biopsy. I was devastated when I found out I had breast cancer. I spent my Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s doing chemo and finished radiation in June of 2011.
Today I’m 8 months cancer-free and I thank God everyday for a second chance in life. I sure did FIGHT LIKE A GIRL.. AND I WILL CONTINUE TO.

Hey my name is Brenda and i am a 4 year surviver of breast cancer i first found out in 2009 when it got where i couldnt stand for any thing to touch me on my left breast so i went to the dr and he done a biospy and told me it was a tumor that was canceres it was the size of golf ball so i cryed and scared any ways i had to take chemo and suragery but thanks to god i am still here
I was doing my regular breast check and found a lump and panicked and made an appointment, and they found a tumor but I was stage 1 and had 2 surgeries and radiation, my family was very supportive and I was so confused on how could this happen to me, all this happened also during thanksgiving, xmas, and new year and with radiation and all I was done by june, but then the recovery from the radiation was horrible, but thanks to my girls and husband I had a wonderful support system, i’m a 2 yr survivor, and I pray every time I go to do a mammogram, It always could go sour again but I gotta keep the faith.
Had Breast Cancer 2009. Had Bi-lateral Mastectomy no reconstruction. Has anyone had great results in the state of Virginia. If so who was your plastic surgeon. Still hoping to have my reconstruction soon.
Thanks
