I was diagnosed with breast cancer on October 1, 2013 – the first day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. From the outset, I vowed to be transparent, and open about my diagnosis and treatment in my journey. I wanted to share my journey in hopes of helping others along the way.
I had a mastectomy on November 5, 2013 and began chemo on December 6, 2013. I had four treatments, the last being on February 7, 2014.
I had so many blessings along the way, and God has used this journey in ways I never would have imagined. I have met awesome people I would not have met any other way. I overcame my fear of needles. I became closer to the Lord, and my faith increased.
My journey has included the blessing of becoming a 4th Angel Mentor to Kathy and Karen – a passion of mine. I hope that I will continue to be able to give assistance to others who are on this journey.
