When I tell people my story, they often look at me like I am crazy. I have been told my story sounds like a bad for television movie. One week changed my life forever. Something was off, with the way I felt and with my marriage. I discovered I had breast cancer and my husband was having an affair all in the same week.
Instead of scheduling surgery, I was scheduling court appearances. I had to file for divorce before undergoing surgery. I could not take the risk of something going wrong during surgery and this man making medical decisions for me since we were married.
I had two small tumors, two different types of cancer, one slow growing, one aggressive. I had a lumpectomy along with some lymph nodes removed and six weeks of radiation. I fought like a girl through it all.
I am happy to say I have hit my five year mark and remain cancer free as well as happily single!
When life throws you a curve ball, fight like a girl!
