Sherrie's Story (Epilepsy)After 2 long years of having so many things go wrong with my health, I finally thought I was starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I started school, and was persuing my dream. Then one day I was shopping at Wal-Mart with my family. The next thing I remember was waking up in the ER. I had a gran-mal seizure. After going through numerous test, many, many, many failed medications, and seizure after unexplained horrifying seizure, (one which resulted in me wrapping my car half way around a light pole on the highway) I was diagnosed Epileptic.

I have had some of my freedom’s taken away. I can’t drive myself anywhere. My husband and children don’t like to let me out of their sight. I also have a tumor that they cannot operate on, because it is dangerously too small and in a bad spot. I am stuck. Due to having a hysterectomy in 2010 from ovarian and uterine cysts, and tumors, I now have osteoporosis. So now every fall or bump is even more threatening than before. I could seriously damage something or break something even easier. But I have not given up hope. I am going to fight my way through. I am determined to finish my nursing degree and continue on with my life. Damned if this is going to stop me.
