Allison’s Fight Like a Girl Story (Breast Cancer)

Alilison's Stroy (Breast Cancer) Hi! My name is Allison. I was diagnosed on my 34th birthday with stage 4 breast cancer with widespread bone metastasis, and on a recent CT scan they found a small lesion. I’ve had three collapsed vertebrae and have trouble walking because of the numerous bone lesions on my spine, hips, and pelvis. I have no private insurance and was ordered by a team of oncologists not to work. I have no income, and Medicaid restricts me from getting into the big late stage cancer facilities.

I do have one thing though, and that’s my choice to fight this horrible disease. And that’s exactly what I’m doing with every power inside myself, mind, body, and soul. It is a hard fight that never allows you to be distracted for even a second. April 16th will mark my two year fight with cancer. I’ve outlasted my prognosis with my own lifestyle changes, prayer, support from loved ones, friends, acquaintances, and strangers who now are a part of my survival.

I plan on living longer than any statistic. I will fight till my death, until the day that God offers my soul a spot in heaven. My loved ones have set up a donation website that helps me with medical bills, co-pays, prescriptions, supplements, organic groceries, and just plain living.

To all my fellow survivors, keep up the fight, for in more ways than one we shall prevail. God Bless, and fight like a girl!

  1. Great story, and well written. I am sorry that you are going through this, but its so refreshing to see you have taken on the right attitude. Fight on, prove them all wrong, and live life to the fullest till the end. Praying for you, and your struggles. Keep smiling though, that what I love the best about all your pictures. Smile in the face of adversity, kill em with kindness, and show them what you got girl! You are a huge inspiration to so many, people you know and people you don’t. I have never met you, but my boyfriend knows you and I remember you from school. Keep up the fight!
